11 Aug 07: Growing up I was always fascinated by ancient and historical civilizations and ideas, and very interested in philosophy and spirituality, (e.g. the works of Carl Jung).  For many years I was caught up in the classic collective trap of striving for material gain.  I have been caught up in empty pursuits of the ego, bewitched and intoxicated, finding ultimately that the rewards ring hollow.  I have so much to be grateful for in my life – and I am indeed thankful – but when my wife bought me a copy of The Secret DVD earlier this year, lightning raced around my brain and I had an “a-ha” moment.  Realizing that I was about to go through a new growth spurt, I followed the path of seeking wisdom in the realms of the spirit, and striving towards accessing higher consciousness.  I have made truth-seeking a  much greater focus in my life in recent months, realizing that by striving to be a better person – period – and though I am only one person in a huge world, it is the best way I can personally help improve our world and the lives of those I meet along the road.
